Summer Nights

Mosquito bites
The light buzzing sound of fan

Lullabies are not needed

The soft rustling makes me help sleep
The silence on the other hand makes a mess of my mind

The nightmare are not that pesky
Things that used to agitate are comfortably numb

camisoles and open wet hair
the thinnest pillow and the woven sheets

A thermos of cold water on the side to quench the usual dry mouth
Summer nights are noisy and the breaths are not heavy
Tears and sobs are easy to hide.
